This is a self-driving car developed by South Korea's top auto-parts maker Hyundai Mobis for test purposes.

The autonomous vehicle makes a left turn by itself as the traffic light changes and lets the preceding car go first in the roundabout.

Also, the car swerves quickly to avoid a stopped vehicle and puts on the brake after finding a car that made a sudden stop.

The eight radars and cameras installed in the self-driving car provide a 360-degree view and detection around it.

Hyundai Mobis has a plan to develop all autonomous driving sensors and other systems, that are essential for future self-driving vehicles, by 2020. It also aims to begin mass producing them in 2022.

"Hyundai Mobis is currently securing capabilities to develop sensors for autonomous driving, including radar, camera and lidar. And this is gonna be the basis for developing autonomous driving systems. We are planning to lead the field by 2025."

Market research firm Strategy Analytics has forecast that the global market of driving sensors for autonomous vehicles would grow to reach 20.8 billion dollars in 2021, from 7.4 billion dollars in 2016, posting some 23 percent annual growth.

The United States, along with Germany, leads the world's autonomous car industry but has failed to fully guarantee the relevant technologies of their own.

The level of the relevant technologies developed by South Korean auto-parts makers is seen remaining at 80 percent of that of the advanced countries.

Industry experts stress that securing the most reliable core technologies for self-driving cars would determine the competitive edge of their makers in the global market.
